Educated at the Stuttgart Gymnasium Illustre, followed by various seminaries. After that, he became a Lutheran pastor in 1834. He was appointed vicar of Cleversulzbach later that year. In 1843 he spent over half a year with his friend, Pastor Wilhem Hartlamb. He retired early in 1851 and became professor of German literature in Stuttgart. He finally retired in 1866 and spent his final years in Stuttgart. His works include Maler Nolaten (1832), Gedichte (1838), Klassische Blumenlese (1840), Das Stuttgarter Hutzelmannlein (1855) and Mozart auf der Reise nach Prague (1856). |
