Died: Spr. 26, 1921 - Rottach-Egern, Germany

Educated at the Latin School in Landstuhl, he then studied Forestry and Law until 1893. That year he settled as a lawyer in Dachau, and later, in Munich. He began to write when he joined the magazine Simplicissimus as its editor. He produced comedies, novels, short stories and humorous narrations which helped to increase his popularity. During World War I, he served as a paramedic. He joined the German Fatherland Party in 1917. He is best remembered for his humorous works, such as Scoundrel Stories (1904). He was unsuccessfully married in 1907 and divorced in 1911. He also produced some verse. His works include Die Lokal Bahn (1901), Lausbubeng es Chicten (1905), Andreas Vost (1906), Tante Frieda (1907), Moral (1908), Josef Filsers BriefWexel (1912), Altaich (1918) and Der Jagerloisi (1921).
