In 1765, his journal was published as Calendar of Flora and the Garden. He followed this with the Naturalist's Journal. In 1789, White published The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne, a collection of letters to friends over the course of 20 years. The work, which contained a number of important discoveries in natural history, was an immediate success and has become a classic English text.
